All About Pocket Knives

I am new to this site but have been buying selling and fixing(in a small way) for 50 years....I was collecting Italy knives when the rest of the collecting world were stuck on Case,Remington,Marbles and the rest of ''good stuff''....Things have changed...because of my age the world and my world has gotten smaller and it seems..NOW..Any Thing with a button,spring or finger guard is snapped up(no pun intended)..within minutes at times..I am very wordy and have been around a long time... I got a hundred stories...BUT........FOR NOW.. 2 questions...With you knife mechanics..IS the peeeking fixable??..I pass on those still...forget the rizzys!.............number two......I have not found or seen any definite info on an 11 inch Italian I've kept marked Folgore in a diamond...it looks to be latama related..Thanks....I have no ref Books these days..most everything has come and gone .but still have a modest collection ,,no techy skills for pics

You don't need "techy skills" to post pictures. All you need is to have the pictures stored on your computer (or phone if you're here on a smart phone). There are simple instructions on how it's done in a thread in the "Tips & Tricks" forum, located here ---► viewforum.php?f=98

Welcome to AAPK. there are a number of switchblade collectors here. And there are several knife mechanics who can repair them. muskratman (Kaleb) does, as does Bill DeShivs http://www.billdeshivs.com/bd/ and there are probably others. If they don’t have the parts they can make them.

As said, posting pictures here is easy, and if you can put some pictures here someone will likely know what you have.

Blade peek is usually caused by 3 things:
Sear notch/hole wear
Sear wear
Pivot pin wear

Often, peek is caused by a combination of these things.
Sear hole wear can be laser welded
Sears can be laser welded or replaced altogether
Pivot pins can be replaced fairly easily.

Thanks Bill...I figured something was wearing out..I suppose these days with the new values it's worth it to have guys like you fix them..I'm old enough to remember buying my first shur-snap off a card for $1.89..They got tossed after 2 days of snaps!!!..lol.....I will keep you in mind in the future.

Sear holes in liners can also wear, but that is uncommon. Most wear there can be corrected with a punch.
