All About Pocket Knives

So this Buck 110 has seen better days. When I saw it I almost pitched it in the trash but something made me keep it in my future projects drawer. I looked it over a bit it has a bent blade. The blade has been reground a good bit. Its separated loose pivot pin seems like.

Just looking for opinions any hope here or is it a goner. My experience with bent blades usually is its toast. Rough to bend them back unless I anneal and re heat treat but I have no clue what steel it is so that's unlikely


It didnt cost me anything and no sentimental value here so.....

While I'd probably wait until this COVID-19 stuff blows over, I am sure Buck will fix anything. Not including postage (which is about $8 USPS or $13 UPS; the latter of which I use), I think it's about ten bucks for a new blade. I have a 112 with a blade someone really beat up that is going to them soon.

Yikes! is definitely correct! It seems someone used that knife as a crowbar, not just a prybar!

Ditto, that. I think it's only about $10, to get Buck to put on a new blade, too. Just gotta get past this lockdown!

Well it would be worth that for sure. I toyed with maybe trying to bend it back and see what happens. I can grind the blade into function on some level. As far as the pins that's where I'm new to the game. Glad I posted here first. I kinda think going factory is smart if I want it fixed

You can find good 110s for $20 in pawnshops, sometimes for less. I would not spend $17 on that one. Just my opinion.

Send it back to Buck for a re blade. $10 for the blade and you pay postage to them. About six weeks later you'll get back what is essentially a new knife. Get on their website and print off the warranty form and you'll get the instructions on how to send it in. Well worth it! I just got notification Saturday that three I sent in the first of March were being repaired now so I expect them back in a couple of weeks.

I’ve had numerous 110 and 112 blades replaced. $10 each they come back looking new. Send it in. You won’t regret it.

Quick question guys—-Would they fix this little 501? It doesn’t stay locked under moderate pressure… I’ve never dealt with Buck or have bought many over the years…thanks

Yes they will. I sent one in for lock problems last summer and it came back not only fixed, but with a new blade as well. Bucks customer service is the best!

Here's a pic of a 110 & 112 back from reblade and spa treatment. Both had broken ground blades when I sent them in. I'll never wear them out in my lifetime. My Grandson will love them.

Well took me a while to get aronnd to sending the knife to buck. But I did a couple months back and it came back yesterday. Amazing they fixed it with a new blade and complete repair for $10. I posted it over in the buck forum and thought I'd share here too. Thanks for that tip folks never would have even known they do that without ya all.
