All About Pocket Knives

I have had very little shop time in recent months. Today I mostly cleaned up a little, and worked on a couple of small, unimportant projects. I have several nice knives that need to be fixed, but today I just wasn't in the mood.
One job that DID make me smile though was replacing the blade in a Gerber multitool that I fished out of the 'bay.
I had recently replaced a blade in another one of these for a fellow Deacon, and it was a harder job than this one because I had to grind and drill a Gerber blade to fit it. They use some HARD steel!
For mine, I had a blade from a cheap import multi-tool that was already a close fit - I only had to reshape the tang just a little bit.
This one will probably get used a lot at work. I recently discovered that I am "essential", and we have a LOT of work to do during this quarantine!

MAN.... sounds like a tough job. I'm glad you got 'er done though....

My shop time for working on knives has been non-existent for the last month. I had my roof fixed and spent most of the last month building shelves and cleaning up my shop. BUT.....
last weekend was my first weekend back at the repair desk and the wait was worth it. It sure feels good when you get back at it.

I'm missing the file for one of my Gerber multi-tools.
I may have file for a Schrade multi-tool I will have to see if that will fit.

Yes, they are. This one is a little different than the one I repaired for my fellow Deacon, but it wasn't hard to figure out. I used to carry a Schrade multitool for years, but had been out of the habit. This Gerber might get me back in the habit again!

I carry a Leatherman's quite frequently...but the knife blade will probably be the last thing to wear out. I usually am carrying another knife, too, that I use for cutting. Pliers, screwdrivers and punch gets used a lot.
