cattaraugus question

I posted this question in the general forum, but thought that this forum might be more appropriate...
I know very little about antique knives, but have always been a knife enthusiast, just have mostly knives i use in fishing expeditions up in Quetico. I was given a Cattaraugus Cutlery co. knife for x-mas, I believe that the handle is cracked (?) ice celluloid, two-blade on opposite ends and the larger blade is flat and curved like a bowie on the dull side not straight and curved all the way up like many of the pictures that I have seen while researching the knife. The serial number is 2284 and the knife is in absolute mint condition... almost as if it has never been used or even owned for that matter. I don't have a digital camera or I would post the pic. I am wondering if anyone has any idea of age and/or value... i don't want to get rid of the knife as I am going to start collecting the antique knives now... Thanks in advance for any replies
