What is it?

Not sure if this is a knife or a tool? No markings anywhere, blade is thick. Overall length is 14ā.

That is an interesting piece! Nice find.
I have no idea what it is, but someone will be along in a little while with more knowledge than me.
Iām going out on a limb to say, the pice actually works upside down from your pics: the handle swell in the palm pointing up, the jigged triangular piece is a thumb test, and the whole contraption is a prong for turning meat on a fire.

The general lines remind me of pieces I have seen attributed to the Phillipines or Indonesia? maybe? I wouldn't want to get jabbed in the butt with that thang.

The shape vaguely reminds me of a choora but they have a straight blade with a T profile.I would agree that it appears to be used with the sharp edge up maybe for gutting an animal.The Phillippines or Indonesia is a likely origin.
