All About Pocket Knives

Here is a Sheffield made 6 blade lobster. At 3 3/8", it is a little larger than the average lobster (the ones I have anyway). It is stamped "Carrick Bros/237 Argyle St/Glasgow", or some portion of that, on the three cutting blades and "Sheffield/Made" on the pile side of the master blade. The maker is unknown, however, the seller, Sheffieldguy, speculated J Nowill & Sons. There is very little information on Carrick Bros to be found. I found a Carrick Bros, located at 237 Argyle St, who were plane makers between 1922 and 1934. With the square kicks and the button hook, I would like to assume this knife is older than that?

Based on information from two Sheffield collectors, over on BF, my knife was likely made for Carrick Bros (at 237 Argyle St, Glasgow from 1922 - 1934) by a Sheffield maker. The knife probably dates to that timeframe, or possibly a little earlier. One of the BF members searched many old Sheffield catalogs and came up with the image below as the closest he could find to a knife similar to mine. It is from a 1908 Francis Newton catalog. It is a dead ringer for my knife, with the exception of a cigar pick place of the small cigar cutting? blade.
