I don't know, page 452 top center of Voyles Antique Knives second Edition shows a 3 1/4" stockman marked 3964. Check it out. The OP knife looks a little funny to me, Voyles found a picture somewhere.

I collected vintage Winchesters for several years. Their jigging pattern changed to this type in later years ( maybe the Napanoch jigging machine wore out ). Anyhow, this knife could be an original Winchester. Please note that the 3964 pattern had stainless blades.

Nail nick is different from the picture and jigging isn’t right for an older model.
As stated already the picture description says it should be stainless??

The blades are definitely stainless! Also the shield Is slightly different but all 3 blades are marked well hard to believe this quality is a fake I mean it’s well put together an has wear to show age

Can that Winchester catalog be found online 98src? I like searching for Winchesters but am always scared of buying a fake.

Look at the tangs, especially the master. It is too long for a quality knife like a Winchester this is trying to be.I guess this was a German knife of some kind. The same stamp was used on all 3 blades. There is a gap between the U and S in USA on all 3 blades. On the spey it was too long and ran over the edge. Poor fake.
