Beings I'm a Kalinga guy, I picked up this Buck Limited Edition 419 Pro folder (45 made) that just came out today at the Buck site. Makes eight of them I have for my collection.

That's a real good looking knife LJ. I think you'll be very happy with that one.

I'll always have a special place for Buck knives. I really like that brand.

What is the handle material ?
Don't know what it's made of but Buck calls it "Dymalux".

"DymaLux is a resin-infused, dyed birch laminate with extreme density and hardness." They appear to be bolt-ons.

That blade shape in a folder sure makes for a cool looking knife. Let us know what you think once you use it. OH

Very cool. I've got an older Kalinga from the early 80s that I occasionally like to take out and admire. Not as familiar with the folding Kalinga, but I did pick up a Buck 715 a few years ago that has a similar, but smaller blade shape.

Thanks everyone for your comments and insight.
OH - Yes Sir, I'll post what I think of it when I get it.
RG - Yes, the Buck 715 Ascend is a very nice folder with that upswept blade. I've got one of those too. It's a great EDC.
Tony -

That's a GREAT looking pen...and you're right...it does match this Kalinga perfectly. Thanks for showing it.
XXCasexx - Thanks. Yeah, I'm pretty hyped about this one. I need to look for a nice display case for the 8 or 9 I have now.

I received my Kalinga yesterday...and I am beside myself with happiness. The photo I posted of this knife just does not do it justice. The red, white & blue Dymalux scales are magnificent and brilliant. I took a few photos (as you can see, I'm not a professional photographer), but you get the gist of what I'm trying to portray. Joe Houser and the Buck Team did a GREAT job with this one. I'm really glad I got this one to put with the Kalinga herd.
Got to go wipe off my fingerprints now and put some Eagle Tears on the blade & liner.

Is this from the custom shop or regular production?
