All About Pocket Knives

Would that correctly be called "Redbone"?

OF, I'd call it redbone, But I just discovered there appears to be something eating away at it. Any idea what little creatures are digging into it. They appear to be white? Any idea how to stop them? They don't show in the photo but they are almost microscopic white thingys. I am goint to repeat this post in the General Discussion in hope someone will have a solution.

Wow QS, I've never seen bone eaters before. And it is such a beautiful knife. Bummer!!!

I've never seen any critters on any "Bone" handles before. Non idea what they could be.
I do have some old Tortoise Shell medical items that do, and the below "Horn" handle with insect damage from long, long ago.

I hope I've caught the problem soon enough to prevent the sad outcome of your knife Dan.

Everyone is probably gonna think I'm stupid for this post but screw it. It's just a thought and I'm just trying to help QS.

I know it's a long shot but maybe the handles are of colored horn instead of bone? Not that it makes it any easier to indentify the critters eating at it, I'm just saying ya need to know if your looking for "bone eating critters" or "horn eating critters". And what makes me ask that question is because Dan has that knife with horn handles that something ate at before.
You wouldn't look for "bone eating critters" if it had wooden or MOP handles either.
