All About Pocket Knives

Here is an old small 4 blade Senator pattern that i am unable to find any information about.
2 1/2" closed, 4 blades, half stops for the 2 blades at non master end, all blades marked "Adams/& Sons".
Long bolsters, brass liners, tortoise shell handle pieces.
I think it is either American or British and made in late 1800's (1880-1890).
An "Adams & Bro" has been posted in AAPK but no Adam & Sons.
Goins lists this marking but gives no information.
Have you seen this marking before ?
What do you think about place of origin ?

I have no information or guess as to place of origin, but it is certainly is a lovely knife!

It looks to be of English origin and I would say pre-1900. It appears to have half stops on the secondary blades but not the master blade.Are the handles tortoise shell? I have the Adams & Bro knife you spoke of and it isn't of the quality that this one appears to be.Nice knife Roland!

Thanks for your posts. Yes, tortoise shell handle pieces, and no half stops at master end but blades at opposite end do have half stops.
It is old and well made.
Adama & Sons is mentioned in Goins so there are other knives with this marking but very few of them because no information is given by Goins and no one here has seen this marking previously.
Maybe "Adams & Sons" was a merchant name not a knife maker ?
