Schrade 6OT rehandle

This poor knife had melted scales and a grinder sharpened blade! I polished out the blade and re handled in black micarta. First time working with micarta. I love that stuff! It's hard and dusty! It'll be a good work knife now.

It looks good Byrd! ::tu::
One of the things I like about the pattern is the lanyard tube. I am curious as to why you didn't include it on this restoration?

Nice job! ::nod::

Thanks Dale, I appreciate your kind remark! I thought about the lanyard and even have some nickel silver tube I could've used but decided to go with a brass pin instead. With the brass bolster and black handles I thought I'd stick with brass. Purely an ascetic decision.

That turned out real nice Byrd!! I'd say you did a fine job Sir. My favorite part is "no gap" between the handle and bolster. Well done. ::nod::

Very nice job! It's a beauty.
I am not a real big fan of a lanyard hole either .... SO.... I re-handled a 6OT in bone last year and I left out the lanyard hole also.

I think your knife looks GREAT!!

Glad my thread could help.
That is why I like to post my resto work.... If somebody can see what to do (OR WHAT NOT to do) then it is worth something.

Very nice job Byrd! I think it looks much better without the lanyard hole too. (I really don't even understand why you would want one. Maybe to connect the knife to yourself with a rope, so the deer you are gutting can't yank it away from you?) ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::
