When is GEC gonna make a Barlow or Sampler? Man I got a fever for one of those patterns in a GEC. Tool and die can't be that different from the trapper you guys have been producing for the last 2 years. The blade die should be the easy part. Nice long single bolster with a reversed stamped acorn in the middle. Prefer a regular Clip blade to a California. 1 in Stag and 1 in Primitive Bone or some kinda jig bone. Just dreamin. Here's my lousy drawing of dream knife.

Signin I saw the lines on the paper in your drawing and made me think of the jigging on a Real Barlow!!

Thanks Gary, I'm no artist. but I know what I like and I like a real Barlow, you are correct yerout. that is some cool jiggin on that Colonal Coon. 1095 carbon, lets start there. Like on the UN-X-LD Northfields. But have it be the only GEC with acorn stamp on it in 1095 carbon steel, call it A Bridge Barlow. One of a kind in the line and out of it.

Amen Perry! I have a design on the books, about 3-3/4 inches I think a bit more with a sheepsfoot and a pen blade. I have not decided between 0-1 and 1095. Only mine will have HUKK stamped on the bolster. Why not.

The thing I see when GEC comes out with with a Barlow, they need a clip, sheepsfoot, razor and I'd like to see either a saber or or Warncliffe blade in addition to a pen. They make all these blades and just think how mamy patterns this will open up once they have all the tooling for the blades. Warncliffe?? You bet, I bought some Case Warncliffe trappers and I like them much better than a traditional trapper.

I'll have to squeeze a proto in between fixed blades. Just use brass liners first then think about titanium liners. Work out the bugs with the cheaper stuff. I am leaning to a traditional sheepsfoot and pen at first. I may just use 1080 for the blades, maybe a mosaic Damascus later. That is pretty far down the road at this point, I do have some drawings, that's about it so far.

There was talk about Northwoods putting out a Cotton Sampler.

HMMM, MAYBE THATS WHAT SUNBURST WAS REFERRING TO?
