All About Pocket Knives

I just added this corkscrew to my collection earlier this week. It is marked Henckels on one side of the shank and Graef and Schmidt on the other. G & S was a NYC based US importer of Henckels and other German products including knives and corkscrews. This one has a dusting brush and a wire cutter. The cutter is marked with the Henckels Twins. I think this circa 1880s. s-k

Thank-you to everyone for your kind comments on my corkscrews. This is a recent acquisition that I was very fortunate to snag. Made in Germany c1890s, not coincidentally known as a 'gay 90s legs' model. It has knife-like springs in the legs and still has good snap. s-k

Thanks very much for the responses guys. This Rotary Eclipse is from the late 19th early 20th century. It is about 16 inches form tip to tip and made from very solid brass. The handle appears to be ebony wood. One turns the handle to insert and draw the cork. It was bolted to the bar top and used in commercial establishments e.g., restaurants, cafes, hotels etc. I don't know how many were made but this is number 908. s-k

My son gave me this Koi Lyrebird corkscrew for Fathers' Day. It is very functional and nicely made.

Koi's knives and this corkscrew are from Austrailia. I've been collecting the line of Koi folders in their line of knives inspired by Austrailian birds.
