Dan I saw that one the other day and started to buy it, but didn't, because I couldn't tell if that was real Damascus or etched. Dummy me I got burned on that one time buying online.

When you get it please let us know what you think overall about the knife.

Sorry, that Damascus Barlow is not a Rough Rider. Its a Szco, made in Pakistan.

I certainly will Dave.
And yes, it is real Damascus steel.
Nothing to be "Sorry" about rmsize.
Szco and R R have related cutlery connections with each other and SMKW. I have Szco related knives and you can not tell any difference, with exception to older Szco knives of course.

"Szco" is a name new to me. So a knife manufacturer in Pakistan is making folding knives as good & sharp as Rough Riders ?
I have predicted for years that it is only a matter of time until knives made in Pakistan are of good quality. In my lifetime the same has happened in Japan and then China and Pakistan is likely next.
I too look forward to Dan's impartial review of this Szco barlow.

My "szco" Bone Barlow, detailed bolsters, fileworked backsprings and damascus blades knife arrived from SMKW yesterday.
Very impressive, fileworked backsprings and blades. Blades are tight and snappy, extremely sharp. Absolutely no light between the liners and handles.
I'll give it a 9 out of 10.
I only deduct 1 point due to the excessive amount of oil applied to the knife. However, it was double packed in plastic to protect the box from oil.
There is obviously no oil shortage in Asia.
I assume the added oil was to protect the damascus blades from rust?
