Reading German Eye tang stamps
Can anybody help me out on how to read the letters like GX DS GXY on German eye tang stamps?

Too new for me but there may be someone here who can help. If not, I'd just get into eBay and find knives with those pattern stamps. It'll be fun looking for them.

"DS" = deer stag
GX & GXY also refer to handles. synthetic ones i think, the Y = yellow.
hopefully someone else will confirm or correct this.

When the first stag handle knives were introduced by Schlieper the DS notation and stamping was listed as “Deluxe Stag” in the catalogs of the time. I’m not sure where the source of their stag was then, but it was not deer from the U.S. So most likely either Sambar stag or a European stag.

......and GX refers to the copperhead pattern, with GXY being a yellow composition handle copperhead.
