All About Pocket Knives

I hope I haven't posted these before! I lucked into a small but excellent collection a little while back, and these came from it.
The first one appears to be an S8363 3/8 per catalog E at just under 3 5/8" long.
The second one (I hope they appear in order. If not I know you guys can figure it out) doesn't appear to be a catalog item. It is a TL-29 type, with an extra saw blade. It came from the factory display, but that's all I know. Can anyone add more??

In a separate post because sometimes they get scrambled, here's a 3 blade utility/scout pattern, unknown pattern number.

Does anyone know how to ensure the order of picture attachments? The previous post is nowhere near the order I placed them !

Here's the back view of the three blade scout's can opener. I can't help but think that in today's litigious society, this opener would lead to a class action lawsuit for millions; probably by the same people who pour McDonald's coffee in their laps!

Those are outstanding knives! I have commented before but just can't get enough of the peachseed bone on those old Schrades.

Those are DEFINITELY some nice Schrades! Here's a couple of mine I dug out while re-photographing some knives.

First is a whittler.I found this one at a flea market.It wasn't in the pouch but as I was looking through the case of stuff,I realized that the pouch belonged to the knife.Bought them very cheap. Realized the knife had never been sharpened and still had traces of preservative on the blades.The pouch is in equally great shape.

The second one I picked up years ago in a bulk purchase.I liked it because of the tip bolsters and the unusual(to me anyway)parallelogram shaped shield.One of the really unusual things about it is the file blade:it is made in two pieces and riveted together.Never saw this construction on a file blade before.

The last one isn't anything really special except for the fact that the bone handles are worn nearly smooth from carrying.The blades have a lot of use as well.The file blade tip was broken off so I reground it slightly.Someone obviously cared a lot about this knife.

I specialize in rehab of trouble making knives. I put them in my safe collection and they never bother you again!

If you can get him to behave long enough to get a passport, you can bring him down in person in April and I will have a heart-to-heart with him! Maybe he will behave better after that.

They don't get much more mint than these two!! I have taken one scan with the knives still in their cellophane wrappers from the factory.

Okay so next I unwrapped them....one knife is a #757 with STAG handles.....yes genuine STAg not bone.

You must have been a good boy, KA!!! Very sweet indeed!

I agree upnorth, it looks like he hit a new high of goodness with these time vault jewels. My question is if he actually had to wait until Christmas to open these or did he open them early.

I see the 757 listed in 1953 & 1954 catalogs.

Here is a 77UH that is not listed in any of the catalogs. Most all of them I have seen have the Ducks Unlimited blade etch and a Ducks Unlimited shield. This is the only one I have seen without a Ducks Unlimited etch and with an Uncle Henry shield. I think the DU version came out about 1999.

Larry Vickery has one shown on Collectors-of-Schrade- http://www.collectors-of-schrades-r.us/ ... s/77UH.htm that does not have the DU etch, but it does not show a shield on his knife.

I wish I knew a little more history of this knife, but at this point in time about all I can say for sure is that it is pretty unusual without a DU etch and with the Uncle Henry shield.

The interesting thing is, the catalog cut shows a "stagged" handle which usually is code for jigged bone. Mine has actual stag handles. I do not know whether any Schrade Walden era catalogs showed any knives with genuine stag handles. I will look at all of LRV's posted Schrade pages.

Wow Charlie, that is one of the most drool inducing groupings I've ever seen! Where the heck did you find those salesman samples? I think I have to agree with Kaleb, that farmers jack is a beaut!

Can't say as I've ever seen anything like those manicure scissors before, I know they're not in the catalog. Must have been a special order, kind of like the typesetters blade on the Schrade Walden stockman.
