What's your knife worth

I have a few case tested knives and I'm having a hard time finding out what they're worth the condition is next to mint, pocket carried and never sharpend. But I'm having a hard time finding what any of them sold for recently. Don't know if it's that if they're that rare or there's not a really good price guide to it the only price guide I've got is Romance of knife collecting. 1976.

I'm new to the Forum and don't know how to post pictures yet but once I do I can upload some pictures of the knives that I'm talking about any help in this area would be deeply appreciated

What they're going for on eBay is a good guideline. Have you tried that?

I usually check eBay, per above, and do a search of the AAPK stores when trying to determine values.

I agree with the other folks. Check completed auctions at Ebay. That is what I would have to do to get a valuation. What they sell for on Ebay is what they are worth.

As it is only a "few" knives, if Gamby gets the pictures posted, there are plenty of active Case collectors here who could give him accurate answers. And then all of us could see pictures of old Case knives.

Welcome to AAPK Gamby! I agree that the "market" is about what you see the same knives selling for on Ebay, and that generally is a good indicator, but, like everything else, presentation makes a big difference. I see people selling valuable knives on ebay and they don't even bother to clean the caked on dirt off, or provide much of a description about critical aspects , such as snap, blade wobble, etc. , and those frequently don't command full market value.

In regards to value of most any knife (same is almost true of other collectables), I decided to bite the bullet and sell some of my hand guns. There are a couple of gun dealers shops in town, so that was my starting point. Both had computers on their counters, they looked the pistols over, then entered the brand & model numbers into the listings on the gun auction site -- noted the selling prices. Then they reduced that price to cover their overhead, and that was his buy price. Of course, if I chose to list the guns myself, then I could HOPE to receive the market price -- in time -- less commision cost to the auction web site -- IF THE RIGHT BUYER was interested.
As it happened, one of the gun shops made a better offer to buy by $100.
Same story for knives, Value Is What Somebody is Willing To Pay -- Ask whatever you want for a price, but somebody will say it is OVERPRICED or A BARGAIN.

Yes.
About 85 miles.
TH is about 180 miles south of Chicago on the IN/IL border.
Cicero IN is north of Indy.

Al was in Cicero IL. Not IN.
TH had a number of gambling houses and a red light district clear into the late 1960s.
The most famous gangster would be John Dillinger. He was from Mooresvile IN, but he had a "safe house" in TH on Fenwood Ave.

Thanks for the correction and info.
Dillinger was know to pack a matched set of .38 Supers, not to hi-jack this thread any more badly than I already have.
