I don't believe the pattern number is right and I don't believe the oval or round shield is right. I did't find the knife in the Ritchie and Stewart catalog.

The 42179 pattern number is listed in Ritchie and Stewart (Standard Knife Collector's Guide), top of page 675. The round shield is not uncommon on Catt's in my experience.

The main problem, of course, is that a pattern number beginning with a "4" should have 4 blades.

Other than that, (and it's a big "that") the knife looks alright to me.
