All About Pocket Knives

Just picked this up at an auction. about 2 3/4" Remington office style knife that came with a leather holder and the button is stamped Remington. Back of knife is flat and smooth. Front side is arched and thicker and has what I think is a totem pole like design on it. Ever seen anything close? Is it hand carved and ivory? Thanks for the input.

In these pictures the handles look like bone.
Would be interesting to know who this knife was made for; i.e. Remington SFO for ?? or, maybe the owner customized the front handle ?

I appreciate the comments on my post. Does anyone know if this knife is listed in any of the Remington reference books? Mine does not have a pattern number on it. Looks to me like more of an island motif than native American? I'd like to learn more about this. Any idea of ballpark value? Mine came from an estate auction and was sold with other items.

They are referenced in Sargents 6th edition book. The knives were carved by native Alaskans, the handle material is walrus ivory. The values are very dependent on condition Just as all collector knives but the few I have seen come up for sale went for at least $500. John

I have also seen several Remington hunting knives and some kitchen knives with Walrus Ivory handles.
