All About Pocket Knives

Dont know a lot about knives but cant seem to find anything about this one.

This knife belonged to my great grandfather i have a lot of knives he used to have but this one was in pretty bad shape when i got it i have no clue how old it is as i can only guess its atleast 30+ years old because he apparently owned it before i was born. I could be wrong but as ive said i have no real info or knowledge about this particular knife.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It's a grafting knife. That is the earliest schrade walden stamp so it puts your knife in the age of around 1946 to the early or mid 1950's. Here is a 1947 catalog image of your knife, the pattern number at the bottom of the image is your knife, as it has white handles instead of the illustrated black.

It is a little hard to date these knives, but I can tell you it is a pre 73 production, since they dropped the "walden" after that date from the tang stamp. I'm sure someone will be along to tell you more. Terry
