Here is an old Imperial I decided to play around with. The front tipped bolsters were missing, and the pen blade broken.

I was bored several months ago (on the job - long story), so I popped the knife apart and made two front bolsters from some old brass keys. I pinned then in place.

- Marking my work
I got back on the project last week, made it a single blade, and installed some Whitetail antler on it.
There are lots of things that I don't like about it, but overall I see improvement with each project. It was fun, and it should make a decent EDC!

Very nice! I always like that old carbon steel on those vintage Imperial's. Looks like it will now last another few generations.

Great idea to use an old key for the bolsters. As others have said it's a huge improvement. As a beginner I appreciate you sharing your work. It gives me ideas and inspiration.

I appreciate all of the support, y'all. This is fun, but my mistakes frusrate me as well. But I know that can only get better by doing the work, and by being willing to mess up along the way.
And I thank all of you who are more experienced mechanics, who teach us all so much! AAPK is such a great community!

Good job Reverand!
Those white tail scales sure turned out NICE!
I put some of it on my recent project (94 OT). I like the idea of using local materials on knives.
Lots of fun!
