Valley Falls Cutlery Co. knife..........

Post by knife7knut » Mon Oct 07, 2019 3:28 am

Found this at an antique shop today in a box of $2 knives marked $4. Never heard of the company before although Goins shows it there is no info about them.
Also the first quill knife I have ever seen with wood handles;usually bone, ivory,or pearl. They look original to the knife except for the overly large pins holding them to the knife.Looks to be of German origin.
Tried posting this earlier but couldn't post the pictures. For some reason I have to post the thread and then hit edit and post the pictures.Hopefully it will work out this time.
Anyone having any info it would be greatly appreciated.

Per these two postings by Mike Losicco (aka galvanic1882), Valley Falls is one of Cattaraugus's lessor brands.

The photo below seems more typical of the pins you see on a quill-type knife, so perhaps handles are replacements.

Nice knife! They are not easy to find at all. Have only seen 5 or 6 since I knew what they were. ::tu::
