It's probably been posted many times; Why are the Remington from the 80's to the early 90's rated so bad? Because of contracted companies? And some of the pre WWII has been contracted with other companies as well? and they are very expensive!

Imo the early contracted knives were made when Remington was still in business , the later knives are companies using the name for sales and will never be a legitimate Remington product .

Actually only the antique knives made by Remington at their Bridgeport, CT factory are the more valuable ones. The knives made for them on contract pre-1940 ("straight line" Remingtons) do not bring much money.
