Boker Tree Brand Barlow #493 and Camillus #9

The Boker had a bad spey blade so I made it into a single blade Barlow. The handle material is goldenroot jigged bone in the RJB pattern. Excellent colors! Kinda looks like a leopard pattern;
The Camillus #9 is a grand daddy Barlow. It’s one of my favorite styles. Unfortunately this one had some tang wear so the snap is a little on the weak side. Its done in ivory jigged bone. It’s still got some life left;
I also noticed a very slight void in the bone handle right where the bone meets the liner at the end of the knife. I put it in the discount section of my website. If it doesn’t sell I’ll keep it and find another donor knife with a stronger snap.
It’s been difficult to find reasonably priced project knives lately. Seems like there’s a lot of people looking for them and the bidding drives up the prices.

Um, you could maybe look at Imperials for cheap project material, especially the solid bolster and old military knives. The steel they used was very easy to work on, i am slowly cleaning up 15 myself, for resale. Also super easy to sharpen and they all take a wicked edge. Just trying to be helpful

Thanks Willy, I’ll start looking for some of the old solid bolster knives.

Great job Jeff.
I am enjoying seeing your work AND I like seeing the different colors of Culpepper bone you are using.
I like the ambers, browns and reds mostly. BEAUTIFUL.....

I love those knives! And I agree that it seems to be harder to find Parts & Project knives on eBay. I have begun looking through some Antique stores lately and have found several at $2 to $3 apiece! No shipping fees, and I enjoy handling the knives before buying, to better assess their condition.
