All About Pocket Knives

I picked up a ACCO barlow knife at some point. it was in decent shape except for the pen blade which was snapped off; I had a few pen blades in my parts collection so it was just a matter of drilling the hole for the pin and re-profiling the tang so that it matched the original. A quick look in the bone box and I found a pair of amber bone slabs in the american standard pattern that I purchased last year on sale from Culpepper's. If I had known how nice the amber slabs were going to look I would have purchased a few more sets of them.
The knife cleaned up nicely and the bone turned out terrific. (I always see small scratches and other minor flaws in the photos once I think I'm done with a knife. It must be the close up view that reveals the little things. Gonna have to start photographing each knife and examining the photos before I decide if a knife is done!)

Jeffinn, your knife saves are getting boringly wonderful. Each one is great. That turned out a really good looking knife.

I actually did that at one point a few years ago. I would take pictures or scans and enlarge them to find what I missed, what scratches I didn't get out, etc.
I ended up getting a good strong 30 X magnifier for use in the shop which saves thetime of taking pics.

But they are getting very predictablely good!!

You sure do some very nice work Jeff. I've been impressed with every knife you've ever shown on this site that you re-handled. Here's what I like the best as this is my biggest pet peeve. The edge of the handle is pushed right up against the bolster. No gap.

The photos seem to always magnify everything. Given that premise, I don't see anything I don't like!

I try pretty hard to get the handle matched to the bolster edge. On most knives it works out well. There have been a few that I’ve done where the bolster is just too beat up and I just end up with a small gap.
I’m like you, those small gaps drive me crazy!
