All About Pocket Knives

I’m assuming that on a knife with steel bolsters you guys are using steel pins for the pivot pins correct? Is there a source for steel pins or are you using nails etc to get the steel pins you need?
Or are you just using nickel silver pins (I’m assuming that nickel silver won’t quite match the steel bolsters)?

Brad Nails are my favorites ,, The Older the Better !

Coat hanger wire works good also, different brands of hangers use different size wire. You have to get the coating off the wire before use.

Nails and coat hangers.
If they are too large, turn them down in a drill with a file.

I have seen carbon steel rods for sale at Ace Hardware stores......
AND, last time I went to the one here, I got some brass rods as well.

Just make sure you don't buy spring stock, or piano wire.
It's too hard to peen properly-even annealed.
You want mild steel.
