Just a note to let everybody know, the Lehigh Valley knife show in Easton, PA scheduled for Sept 28-29 has been cancelled. Please let anybody you may know who may have planned to attend. Hopefully this is a temporary setback and the show will resume next spring.

Well Steve, you'll just have to make the 4&1/2 hour drive to Marlborough, MA Sept 15 for the NCCA one day show!! Or the next one on Nov 3rd. I wasn't going to be able to make the Lehigh show anyways but got the word from Bill Odor regarding the cancellation and figured I had better pass it on.

Hi Steve B, I'm glad you read this. I hope Bill will be able to do the spring show too!! Maybe you can make the drive to the Keystone Blade Club show in Lewisburg, PA at the end of Feb, I don't have the date yet. It is a smaller show than Easton but not by much and there are always good knives showing up there. You saved my bacon there last year with the sausage, I was HUNGRY and unable to leave my tables. Hope to see you there.

Too bad - look forward to the Easton show ... anybody aware of the circumstances - seems a bit extreme to flat out cancel such a popular show ...

Health issues which are not open for discussion at this time. Lansky, I didn't know you were a regular there, hope you can come out to the Lewisburg show. I'll have two tables of antique knives there, stop by and say hello.

Thx for the intel Gunsil ... hope the proprietor of the Easton show gets well. I've never ventured to Lewisburg, how does that show compare to Easton ?

In my opinion the Lewisburg show is better than the Easton show if one likes old knives. I think there may be more tables at Easton than Lewisburg but there are a LOT of good antique knives there. The Keystone Blade Club has been putting on the Lewisburg show for around thirty years and it is well established. The Easton show seems to always have empty tables while there is a wait list for vendors to get a table in Lewisburg. I also generally like club shows more than "promoter" shows, the clubs are not in it for the money. I like Bill Goodman, and have set up at a couple of his shows but have always done better at Lewisburg. I liked the old Wind Gap shows too, was sad to see it go, it was the first show I did when I began selling off my large collection of old knives. As I told Steve, there is a show in Marlborogh, MA Sept15 put on by the Northeast Cutlery Collectors Association and they will have another on Nov 3rd. I don't set up at these one day shows but do go to shop and socialize, and there are always good antique knives there. Both the Steves who answered this thread go to Lewisburg, hopefully they can give you their opinion of the show.

The Lewisburg show is worth the trip for me. It's not that far from the Lehigh Valley. As gunsil says, there are plenty of old knives to view, handle and buy. The venue is a hotel so it is a little different than the Chrin Center in Easton in that respect. Has a very good restaurant attached. I'll be there as long as we don't catch a blizzard that weekend.

Hope to see you out there!! I am usually set up in the front room (there are two separate rooms for the show) and will have two tables of antique hunting and pocket knives with a bunch of old Sheffiield dirks and American military knives thrown in just for fun. I am always looking to buy harder to find models of antique KA-BAR hunting knives. Stop by and say hello. Steve 99f is correct though regarding weather. I have gone out there a few times with nice forecasts for here in NY state and nice forecast for Lewisburg and run into whiteout conditions up in the Poconos. If you are going from southern PA there shouldn't be a problem. I have gone out I-78 rather than I-80 when snowing, it is a longer drive but I miss the Pocono hills doing so.
