THey say custom and selling for under 200 dollars, I like all the exotic handle materias being used. Has anyone heard about these knives. Here an example pick of sheep horn fixed blade

I believe that is Arno Bernard Sr of South Africa. He has a son Arno Bernard Jr that started making good knives under his fathers tutalage in 2005. He seems to have good quality for under $100.00 for some knives.

Arno Bernard Sr has been a member of the Southern Africa Knifemakers' Guild since 1994.

Arno Bernard Jr started in 2005 using the same steel and handle materials as his father. His knives are very similar and if he becomes popular his knives will rise in value. Be careful whose knives you're buying.

Yeah, that's Arno Jr the son that started in 2005. I have been thinking about buying a couple, who know's. Same materials as dad, same techniques, it's very possible but no gaurantee that he will fetch a higher price in the future. If I remember correctly, they both use Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel from Sweden. Remember, this is the son, not the father.

Careful because some may sell Jr's knives as Sr's knives. Spotted one surfing around.

I think dear old Dad uses ATS34 is that the same ?? Rc looks lower.

He may also use that, but I went to a website where he says he uses Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel from Sweden. It's pretty widely used in other parts of the world. ATS34 is different and comes from Japan, Hitatchi is the major maker. Crucible makes a steel similar to ATS34.
