Fixed up a Camillus #15 over the weekend

Good morning everyone.....
I did a little work on another in that bunch of poor ole sick knives I got from the bay.
This one is a Camillus #15.. I went over to the Camillus forum and found out these knives weren't very popular at the time. One Camillus collector had one and that was about it.
Well, since I like RED I decided to put some Culpepper smooth red bone on this old guy.
Sorry.... no progress pictures this time.
Here he is before I started taking him apart.

During the clean-up phase I decided to leave some patina on the blades. I didn't want to start chasing rust pits and wind up with really thin blades. So, just a little cleaning on the blades.... the rest of the clean up was on the liners....yuck! Oil mixed with cell residue....
Here he is in his new Sunday go to meetin's....

Thanks for looking y'all.

like I said... I didn't want to do a lot of rust chasin' so you can see a few pits in the springs....

Mike if celluloid has its way 15's like yours may be the only ones that survive. Excellent job. ::nod:: ::tu::

Thanks!!

Yep, as I saw during research, the #14 was just like the #15... only difference was the #14 had jigged bone scales...
SO, why would you want a #15??
Well.... anyway.... mine has smooth bone now.

I wouldn't mind having a #15 to go with my #14's but I don't want anything to do with Celluloid. I have a few Bulldog Doctor knives that may be Celluloid (I don't know how to tell) and I would get rid of them but I dislike selling almost as much as I dislike Celluloid.

Mike that's a fine piece of work ya done there. That refurbed #15 is something you can be proud of and by the way, good choice on the handles.

Thanks Jerry.
I have gone thru my knives and made SURE I pulled all the cell handle knives out and put them in their own spot..... away from my others.

Wow Mike! That knife looks great! I think you made a good choice to leave the patina on the blade, somehow it just looks "right".

Thanks!!
That was kinda my thoughts... I didn't go for the "like new" look. I just wanted some covers so I would have something to hold on to.

Thanks Mike. Not too many people even know what the Bonnie Blue is anymore.
