All About Pocket Knives

Hi. I came across your site while trying to research this knife. Just want to say you guys have awesome knives -WOW-! I have found some pictures of Case leg knives, but none are this color. The tang says: CASE then below it: BRADFORD, PA. The other side says: TESTEDXX then below it: G1097. The blade has good snap to it when you open it. Closes tight. The knife is solid, nothing loose, but the tip of the blade is broke off. I'm assuming the handle is celluloid, but I can't tell if it has some cracks or if the design is suppose to appear as it does. If the celluloid is cracked?, are you suppose to see visible cracks on the surface of the celluloid? (Because I can't, even with magnifying glass). Also, do you think this knife is worth being professionally cleaned or just a waste of time and money? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

welcome. if that knife is right, iwould not have anything done other than wiping it down.

PLEASE don't clean or buff that knife. It may be a little piece of knife history and it would be a shame to change it up.

listen to these knowledable people. They know of what they speak. It is a real keeper.

bluewolf, that knife is in great shape and dates back to the 20's... Please dont clean it, it is a gem as is.

Hi, thanks for your advice, I won't have the knife cleaned or buffed. Does a shiny blade on an old knife diminish it's value? I see a lot of nice old knives on here that have been buffed. Although, the blade does looks worse in these pictures than in real life. Is the knife from the 20's,or earlier? I looked up the tang stamp on Case's site and it said 1905-1920. Anyone have a "guesstimated" value one this knife?

I wouldnt have a clue as to the value of the knife, I bet knifeaholic would though.
