Picked up a decent 62238, pretty full blades that had rust cleaned, love the arrow shield and has incredible bone, some of the best vintage jigged bone I have seen.

Nice knife, I don't think I have ever owned a Robeson with the arrow shield that did not have the circle treatment around the pivot pin.

Jim, I never heard of the pivot pin whatever. Can someone expound?

Lyle,
The pivot pin is the pin which goes through the bolsters and the blades tang; thus allowing the blade to pivot in the frame. The ops knife has a circle heavily stamped in the bolster around the pivot pin - something generally not seen in a finished knife.

Thank you all for the comments, appreciated. I read that the circle on the bolster was to represent a bullseye for the arrow, not sure if true or not.

That was an opinion expressed by Bruce Voyles. It sort of makes sense, especially since the circle araound the pin was filled with a red pigment at the factory.

I have seen the arrow shield on a knife that did not have the circle around the pin.

They only used that shield on a couple of patterns.
