All About Pocket Knives

I have heard for years that Remington etching with solid letters (kind of a frosted appearance) were not original. The etch with two lines ( kind of like an outlined letter) are original. Any one have any opinions on this?

Both of the examples you posted look good to me. The first example with the solid letters is far more prevalent. The R1306 bullet is the only pattern that I can recall where I have seen the outline etch lettering style in your second example.

Mark,I'm with Jerry,the outline etch I've only seen on the 1306 Bullet.It could be on others,but don't recall them.The re-etched knives I've seen obviously had been cleaned.
