All About Pocket Knives

While I was waiting for the glue to dry on the shield of my 6 OT I thought I would clean up a few.
These first 2 I got at the antique store last Friday for $5 each. I thought the little Schrade 233 was a gonner. It was bad rusty and the main blade was tipped. The sandpaper and oil saved it's life. Gonna be a good one to tote. #2 is this Uncle Henry.... It was a nasty mess but only real dirty. It cleaned up right nice. I got 3 knives for $15 but the last one was too much of a train wreck to do anything with. It is in my parts bin.

I had an "Old Crafty" 9547 I wanted to clean before I put it in my Old Timer collection. It came out pretty good. I also had this Primble Old Timer. It has full blades BUT the rust pits go pretty deep on the main blade. oh well, It can be a "place holder" until I find another for my Old Timer collection. Mike

Those are real nice Mike. I like it when we can give new life to an old, beat-up pocket knife. I posted the other day about how there are thousands of older, scratched up knives on eBay (and here), that are functionally sound, but cosmetically flawed.

With a little clean-up and oil, a lot of them can still be used for years. They might not be new, but they'll work just the same.

Thanks Mike.... The knives you mention are the knives I seem to like the best. I enjoy the clean up part.
I get a big sense of satisfaction from helping out an old neglected knife....
