All About Pocket Knives

Can you tell me where to access an "exploded view" of the blueprints for this knife.
I have one with a broken blade and wish to take the knife apart to replace the blade, but would like to see what the inside looks like first.

Sweat79, try looking in the KNIFE RELATED TUTORIALS forum on this site. Muskrat Man can tell you how to do about anything with a knife, as well as some others on here.

The knife does not use standard pivot pins, but the "Swinden Key" method shown here...

Bill...He he, That doesn't look like a "Swinden Key"... I don't see the keyhole in the bolster in that drawing,

I think I have an unassembled one somewhere, I'll look it up and see if I can post a picture.

Here's a couple of pictures. Note the keyhole shaped cavity in the liner and bolster and the wheel (or nail head) shaped rivets that go through the blades. The little wheels go through the liner and inside the bolster. When the knife is put together the blade pins slide into the thinner part of the keyhole by pressure from the backspring and the whole thing is held together by the center pin in the handle.

Note that if the center pin in the handle is removed the whole thing falls apart. Note also that to replace a blade you have to remove the pin with the little wheels, and to put in a new blade you have to make a new pin (not an easy thing to do).

I have taken this one apart but never replaced a blade, maybe you can get some advice from more experienced forum members around here.
