Y'all got any MODIFIED Schrades (& Old Timers...)

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Heck no, I wish I could take credit, I could only dream of doing such a nice job. Mr. Williams did red bone and stag, Kaleb sawcut. For reference, this was the stag when I purchased it.

I know you have some really awesome stuff Kaleb, please post them. Glenn I know you haven't got a good start yet, post some more of yours please! ::tu::

HW ELK BOWIE (2).jpg
Presentation Bowie done in the 80"s in Sambar Stag
PRESENTATION BOWIE DISPLAY-r.jpg
This is one that Herman presented to whoever had the best Schrade Collection at some particular show and is engraved BEST SCHRADE COLLECTION. He attended a knife show nearly every weekend during the knife show season, taking along his own collection to display which was mounted on panels. When put together these panels were around 4' high and over 30 feet long. During the show he would work on a knife and then present it to whoever had the best Schrade collection. Herman sold his collection to Schrade in the 90's. It was bought by Smokey Mountain Knife Works and Blue Ridge Cutlery as part of the factory collection at the 2004 bankruptcy. I've been told that they promised the entire collection would be displayed and not broken up. If they did indeed make that promise, it was a lie.

Hey..... Somebody that knows.....

Why are the pics that gmichael posted not visible to me?

Our stupid firewall here at work will not let me click on them and view them.

I know I missed some beautiful knives.

Doug, that link you posted to eBay is certainly a good-looking knife. A little out of my price range though. LOL

Here is some more of my early work January through April of 2008.

The knives listed from here on in this post or customized or restored after April 2008. Nothing is especially important about that date, just the way I filed my pictures. Knives customized from 2006 to April 2008 were all in one folder until I realized it was getting a bit large. In April 2008 I started cataloging my customize knife pictures by the year. The rest of the knives in this post were completed after April 2008.

I completed several 167UH blanks with various types of wood.
