I did not see a forum, bought this knife roll at a garage sale for $3. Her father collected knives and she was not sure that her father made it. Kind of a red leather outside and very well made. Any one recognize it? Thanks.

Here’s a thread about at least one brand. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=62016&p=730097&hilit=Roll#p730097

There are other threads here as well. Not a fan myself. They’re useful for short-term transport and display. I would never leave knives in them longer than a week. Just my experience - others have had no problems - yet. ::paranoid::

I have seen one of the elastic bands make a mark on the handle of a knife. I can't remember what the handle material was, but I think it was Delrin.

Ken and I are polar opposites on this subject. I use one cheap Chinese roll and the rest are in folders, some I've had for 20 years and so far (knock on wood) haven't had a stitch of trouble with any of them. I love 'em.

I have a couple that are very similar if not identical to the ones posted. The ones I have were made by a gentleman in Lynn Massachusetts who owned a leather company there and collected knives.I cannot recall his name offhand(this was 40 years ago)but I do remember he was good friends with Harvey MacBurnette and had a number of Harvey's knives. I'm going to call a friend of mine back east and see if he remembers his name.
