All About Pocket Knives

I guess this is more of a restoration than a customization. Lately I've had a thing for Sheffield cutlery. In particular some of the patterns that you just didn't see here in the states. I'm a big fan of the Lambsfoot pattern, although I always thought that the blades looked worn and short even when they were close to new!

Anyway, Charlie had an SFO that I missed out on, and I was bummed out about that, so I found a basket case online to work on. The HM Slater Venture I got, I thought was in better shape, but when I received it, the spring was sprung and it was mostly an old jalopy. I fixed the "spring" on it to servicable, and used some nice NOS bone that I had on hand. I really like the end result, and only wish the knife was in a tiny bit better condition. Regardless, it's a great user, and in my pocket as we speak.

I would have passed on the before but that after pops! Bare head, bone and a lambs foot, what's not to like. As always, great job.

Great job! My first foray into the Lambsfoot was a rather old and beat up Taylor's Eye Witness. It's in good shape mechanically, and while scratched, the blade doesn't have much wear. It gets sharp really easily and holds it pretty well. The scales aren't broke, but being "composite" have shrunken a bit; and from a former owner, a bit of brown paint spatter.

It was some old NOS bone that I had on hand. Not sure which manufacturer it came from, but I love the color of it, and the jigging. Even Culpepper isn't making it like that.

Glennbad, I bragged on the knife but you photo is top quality as well.
