All About Pocket Knives

Went over to meet this guy today and bought a few knives from him. What a great guy. Who is this Jfarmer? Or anybody else.

Well......alright. heres one Stockman Stripe "Loaded Dice" on the etch from 2006, I like the diamond shield and the new zeelox handle material. Like you say James...if thats how you spell it. To me, Fight'n Roosters are the best made German knives on the market today. Solid with every feel the old Bulldogs have, UH. Wonder why that is. Joking of course. I think the more I research this line the more I think Frank and Jim had a healthy rivalry going on who could make the best knives back in the 80s and 90s. Kinda like McCartney and Lennon writing songs together and apart. Their friendship was long and great and they traded many knives together as well.
When I was visiting with Sterling today I asked him if he had THE book on Roosters that Jim had made in the early 90s. I wanted to buy one and he went to the back and came out with the very book. I asked him how much do I owe ya? He said, NO CHARGE and hoped that I enjoyed it. Now tell me he didn't learn something about the bus. from good old dad and Jim Parker. The book says that Fight'n Rooster is in good hands with Sterling at the helm, I'm a believer in that and in this fine gentleman as he must be makin his dad very proud. Sterling told me he is making a trip to Germany in the spring to go over the new knives and designs. Man, it was great to get info from the head guy. He and Ms. Glenda are fine people indeed. You can bank on it! James, you were right my friend. A few more to come....

Hey, Charlie here. Perry had to step out to judge a cock fight Here's the winner. A 2004 International Cutlery Club Stag Sunfish. And yes, I had to by the trailer that went with it. I'll show ya the runner up tomorrow. BTW Sunburst, I saw your big ole ax Florida Sunfish too. What a monster these knives are. I told Sterling I was introduced to the line through this web site and the conversations I had with our buddy Jfarmer. And sho nuff James calls just then. Sorry I didn't say anything to ya James, I was a little busy. All over the knives.

Yeah Johnnie kinda. Here's the runner up, a Green Sagebrush Sunfish. I think from the late 90s but it really tastes more like chicken to me.
Lucky for me, I luvssssssss me some chicken. I cant believe Fight'n Rooster Knives are my neighbors. Just up the road. Sterling informed me that he will be at the Parkers show next month. So will I if it hairlips the Gov.

Thanks guys, Yeah Jim that's all they sell there. Its basically the headquaters for Roosters. They don't have alot in stock right now but hopefully that will change. When they get new knives in they call their regular customers first and then what's left over is free to buy.

You know Perry, I see that colored etch and it's the same that Bulldog used as far as type of etch for the Bulldog Collectors Club knives. I think I posted one as a first generation example in the counterfeit knives section for the Cuttin' Horse.

Thanks everybody for your response, my server was down all day yesterday
and I thought it was somebodys fault turns out, it was mine. Man, computers are hard. Anyway, Hukk you are correct. Its no surprise why myself and many others like the Roosters so much. Made in the same factory as Bulldogs, same type etching as Bulldogs, with a lot of different blade configurations and interesting patterns and handle materials.
You Know, like older Bulldogs. Thats why I lik'em. Hey James, didn't want to be a pig, Ran out of money. Sunburst, your Battle Axe was sittin right there in the case. Tough choice but I liked the etching on the other one. Plus, have to save some money for Parkers just in case.

A pearl Rooster is one of the few I've hung on to. It has a hinged presentation box, and is a very well made knife, IMO.

I liked it so much that I stuck my thumb and forefinger on the main blade ( ...what a goofball... ).

Bill that is a stunner for sure man. I am definately holdin on to this one as well. Always liked that Rooster of yours There's something about these particular knives that makes me say.....Some one smell something burning? Check this out. FIRE, FIRE. I could take a hundred pics and none would be the same.

That's some nice pearl. It's hard to find a reliable source of pearl that doesn't want $75 to $100 for a 3 1/2 in to 4 inch piece of that. Sometimes it's cheaper to buy the large pieces and cut them in half, NOT ALWAYS though. Great Pearl!!
