Carved out with my Case Seahorse whittler. My first try at one. Was going to sand it but decided to leave it with all it's carving marks. Pretty happy with it.

Nice job. Nice knife. ::tu:: One of these days I'm going to try and whittle/carve something.

Doug that turned out great! My first one looked more like a football or a jellybean in a cage. And you used a classic to whittle it. Excellent. ::tu:: ::tu:: ::nod:: ::nod::

Wonderful! What kind of wood did you use?

Thanks for the kind words everyone. The wood is basswood. I'd like to try to make one out of butternut. I think it would look nice. It definitely was fun to see it taking shape as I worked at it. Probably had over 4 hours into it. I definitely want to try making another one.

That is REALLY neat! A lot of work, but a good result.

Second attempt at a ball in a cage. Painted the ball yellow and added a smiley face to two sides.

Doug, another fine job. You do well with paint. How to paint the ball but not the cage, that is the question. You did well. What's next? A 2 or 3 ball cage? A ball in a cage, in a cage. I always enjoy your whittling. ::nod:: ::nod:: ::tu:: ::tu:: ::handshake::

I can only look on in awe as I have difficulty just whittling a stick. ::tu::

I guess what ever I feel like at the time. I have a hard time whittling something that isn't in my interest, hard to explain. I think I'll just stick with a ball in the cage for now until I get some real skills!
Thanks everyone!
