All About Pocket Knives

After several years of looking this one finally came to papa last week. I don't know the reason but they are extremely hard to find in this condition.

Tommy it's a mystery to me why they are so hard to find because they are the same as a 72 except they have milled liners and the football shield as well as the Camillus Deluxe on the blade. As far as I know they never came with bone handles.

I agree They are very hard to find.Your knife is in very good order.
I have two and both did a lot of work.
The only difference I have noticed my two have black handles.

Thanks for the pics. Another elusive Camillus to watch for. Congrats to you two on yours.

Elusive is a good way to put it. They don't all have the football shield though. And they did make them with bone handles. I think the 80 was introduced in 1954. My first one 4-18-2012 My second one was a gift from Dave O 10-17-13. Thanks Dave. The 3rd one came 11-22-14. You'll note it has the Federal shield.

Now you've done it Jerryd! I must have one of those bone handle 80's.

Dont know how I missed this. Congratulations Greg. Good score. Good to see the etch. I have a bone 80 and the Powr Kraft version also. The Powr Kraft doesnt have bone covers it has the black covers. They are both used but still in good shape. I watched a very nice bone one sell on ebay some time back it went well past $100.

I obtained my first "80" tonight. It looks like it's in EXCELLENT condition. I'll post MY pictures when I receive it. These are the seller's pictures.

Skip, judging from the football shield, that appears to be one of the earlier ones ('56 - '65). Also, the handles look like they may be Brownstag® which, if they are, would support that.

Stumbled on to this one on the bay. I had been watching for an 80 and had missed one. This one came up and I made him an offer fair to both of us and he accepted. Not perfect by any means as one of the handles has some shrinkage and the blades show some wear but I am pleased with it. Thanks for looking.
