All About Pocket Knives

Should be a decent knife. I typically rely on Morakniv for cheap fixed blades, but I have quite a few of Rough Rider's folders (including a Jumbo Stockman I carry regularly) and they all perform their duties well, and hold an excellent edge. The only thing I can't say I like is their carbon steel. It seems softer than what most American companies use. Yet, the 440A holds an edge for a long time.

I've heard good things about RR knives.
Just not a fan of the dagger style knives.

I have some Rough Rider folding knives in my collection and as far as the brand goes I have no problem. I believe they are good pocket knives and I've given a couple of them to my grandson's for their first knife. I only have a hand full of fixed blade knives, but I just don't collect them and daggers don't interest me at all.

I have hundreds of RR traditional style folding knives. Every single one is issue free and all blades are shaving sharp.
I have a few RR tactical style knives. These are decent but nothing special. Blades are not shaving sharp.
I have a few RR fixed blades and i am not impressed at all with these.
Likely different manufacturers are used. Some of the RR fixed blades come from Pakistan.

It looks like a copy of the Western boot knife.

There is no doubt that the person who designs the RR knives knows Traditional knife patterns very well.

It looks good to me! The handles look kind of thick, and probably heavy, to actually use as a boot knife. Unfortunately, that goes for most boot knives that I have tried over the years. Maybe I will try one of those.

I can't comment on RR fixed blade knives, but I have a few folders and no complaint at all. Good quality for the money. I don't buy boot knives , just folders. Terry

For $20.47 It seems to be a decent value (440A steel). The sheath can work for a couple of daggers I have. (It will conceal well beneath my sports jacket(s). I would like to replace the dark wood scales with a smooth pair made from Oregon Myrtlewood. That would make it both handsome and resilient.

I really like the looks of it and the price is right, don't think you're going to go wrong with it.

It is a small Boot Knife. The nice part about it is that it will virtually disappear underneath my sports jacket and "take the worry out of being close" while traveling.
