All About Pocket Knives

Thought some of you might find this interesting my Dad carved this on his favorite rifle. I told him it should have been a squirrel given the caliber of the rifle. He ruined the value of the rifle, but he made it into an heirloom.

Fantastic 39’s! I have a 39M that I just love.

Yeah, he might have taken a few dollars off the value, but I bet not as much as you’d think for a 39. Besides, it looks like he did a fantastic job! Stock carvings are not my thing, but that one looks very tastefully done.

If it were my dad that had done the carving, it would make it tons more valuable to me.

Very nice work your dad did. I do not know it that carving takes away the monetary value or not, but it sure enhances family value! When I was a boy my older brother had one of those Marlin 39 rifles. I always thought it was a very fine rifle, though when it came my time to get a lever .22 I opted for Browning.

It looks like he did a nice job! I think it increases heirloom value!

Thanks guys. It is a treasure and I’m glad to have it. He was an acomplished wood carver he carved two rifle stocks and said he’d never do another. Difficult shape to work with and the wood was too dry.

As long as he likes it value doesn't matter.
