All About Pocket Knives

If you look at this knife and the sellers other listings you can see what happens when good knives are neglected. Quite a shame here if the family had found these years earlier they could have had some family heirlooms to pass down for generations.

Agreed. I wonder if at the very least, the stag handles and shield can be salvaged. That is most unfortunate.

A terrible shame. By my count there are 108 purportedly unused Case knives in this group up for sale. A leaky car trunk is obviously not a good long-term storage environment. From the pictures, I doubt there are any that can easily be salvaged.

That is going to make me have nightmares that my knives look just like those.

"Quite a shame" is almost an understatement. All of those knives...in that condition.

I bought a bucket of rusted knives that had been in a van, a window was broken and the bucket filed with water over a period of time. I was surprised that several cleaned up pretty well and others were completely shot. None of the knives in my bucket were nearly as desirable as the Case in the OP.

Wow. I looked at a few of the auctions and it really is sad to see such a fine collection reduced to junk.

Thank you all for the comments and interest in the “trunk rusted hoard.” It truly just about brought me to tears when I saw them for the first time. The guy I bought them from was just as sick as we are. I would estimate around 6 to 10 thousand dollars worth in their original state.
