If you are a BladeForums member you can search there and find many posts about a guy called "pappy" who was selling folders he claimed to have made but were from China with handles mounted by him. Don't know if it is the same guy ?

Thanks...It's sad I didn't get to meet him or see any of his others knives but I've had these knives 20 years or so.....if he was 78 then Pappy should be real close to 100 years old now.....just figured I would take them out of the dark let someone else enjoy looking at them...and may learn something else about them...Thanks again for looking and hopefully someone will have some more information ::tu:: ::tu::

I just bought two of his knives at a local flea market he sold at. The people that sold it said he died back in 2013. The knives came in a beautiful sheath they made with him. His full name is Howard “pappy” Lawhorn. I found a site from knife magazines posting his shop name Pappy custom knives. I posted the knives on Facebook and found out he’s related to a friend of my wife’s family and that’s how I was able to find out a little more.

These are the knives I got along with a paper they used to print to advertise for him and they showed me a photo of him in the military.

Yeh that’s where his shop was or still is. From what my wife’s friends said his grandson started making em again but signed them with a L or P wasn’t sure. But pappy would come to friendship and sell there.

I’m not sure on the value of them I just got them maybe 5 days ago now the people selling em were close friends and they let em both go for $210. I haven’t been able to find anything else on besides your knives and one for sale on Etsy.

I was married at Pappy's camp in friendship Indianna. He lived in Ross Ohio near Fernald (national lead). I have a dozen or more of his necklace knives. He gave me a special knife at the wedding, a Cherokee ceremony. This picture is one of his most common necklace knives and sheath.
