This knife has eluded me for years(non retail price), could have bought one for $700 a few years ago, still kicking myself. Looking for a gently used or NIB with original sheath. Thanks.

Cowry X is made by Daido Steel Co, designed by Ichiro Hattori. It is a powdered high speed tool steel, with san mai sides of low layer stainless damascus. Looks just like a regular NL5, do not have a pic.

There was talk of some knives with a bad heat treat, at least one bit from BF, and the knife was replaced without question(sellers story). Definitely seems like a gamble if a guy wanted to put one to use, and in this case, I do. I have always thought the knife has a lot going for it, but the retail price is absurd.
