Help identifying an unusual Case shield

I recently purchased this Case 1999 Abalone 82109X (Mini Copperhead). It has a very unusual shield, and that is my question. Does anyone know what this shield is called? It appears to be a skull without the crossbones or a motorcycle or "chopper" symbol - possibly a SFO. Thanks, Gumshoe.

Never seen one like it. You may have to ask Case. You can send them an email with pictures to
consumer-relations@wrcase.com.

Check this link out Gumshoe. Only info I know of on this “shell” shaped shield. Hope this helps!

That's it Whittler - Thank you. Now it makes sense - its not a skull at all, but a SFO abalone shell shield.
Mumblypeg - I did email Case to the email address you provided. Maybe they can tell who it was made for.

I received a reply from Case Cutlery today (5-14-19). "We are very sorry we do not have any information on this for you. We do not have current database of all of the SFO knives".

Thanks for letting us know what they said.

Now we know they don’t know about at least some SFOs.

Well Gumshoe, at least you know it was an SFO and was supposed to be a “shell” shaped shield! Better than nothing I guess!?!?
Btw, you may wanna check that website periodically...it gets updated pretty regular and has some really good info!

Whittler - I have been and will do it on a regular basis. Thank you again. FYI - I was not aware of this website.
