Politically incorrect warning!!
My mother and her best friend were both born on December 7th, 1913.
Sarah's birthday is December 3rd.
One year, many years ago, I took all three out for a birthday dinner at a Japanese Hibachi restaurant, December 7th, Pearl Harbor Day.
After watching the chef at the griddle go through his entire routine, slicing, dicing, twirling, and grilling our dinner, my Sainted mother leaned over to her friend and said in a voice audible to many, "I don't know how we ever defeated those Japs."
Last time I ever took her there.
