I bought this knife about 20 years ago, It's from the Utica Co. didn't know I had this, so I Notified this Company, they said it is rare, only about 20 made, for a trial basis made in 1999 Can any one who has a trial knife from companies by accident, do they have any value to them by this type of rarity?

Interesting! I notice the number on the rear of the tang is 1813. I have two that are near identical except the numbers are 18131. One has a deer on it and the other a fish.

Hi. Notified what company? Did you ask why the tang says UTCA and not UTICA?

I’m thinking maybe there were only about 20 made with the “UTCA” stamping error, before they caught it and changed the stamp. Then they made a usual production run with the error, or errors corrected.
As to the question whether these have any more value, I doubt if they do. There are very few factory error knives that have any enhanced value. They’re just curiosities. There are several threads here regarding factory error and “prototype” knives.
