All About Pocket Knives

I found an Imperial in nice condition for 9.00 at an antique store. I passed initially, Imperial with celliod handle just didn't seem worth it.
But further research indicate I may have been too hasty.
It has really attractive ( I think) green pearl like scales like the one knife I posted below, but is in the pattern of the other knife in the second picture
I may go back for it....

Gotta agree, 9 bucks buy it if you find it apealing.

Heck, this one is lowly rated also, but I found it yesterday for $5 !

Just a couple of dark spots on the master blade, but a good, solid, nicely made peanut from Ulster U.S.A.

Even has a tiny Ez.O. for the pen blade.

I'm not proud. If I could find them like this every week, I'd have another collection.

And I got them down to $7.50 ! The Blades have good snap, no wiggle and the scales are tight.
I suppose I could have bought a new rough rider for the money, but they just lack soul...

Thanks, and I wil be back often. I have always had a few knives, but never really collected them. I started accumulating a few I liked and THEN starting learning about them, the "Ready, shoot, AIM" method.
I have a few I will pass on to the grandkids someday.
My daughter freaked when I bought my grandson a nice little pearl peanut.
She said "Dad, he is only 18 months old!"
I replied, "I know, he will have to wait until gets older, like two!"

Nice knife-nicer buy.

I'd have bought it in a heartbeat. I buy just about everything I find that's under $10. VERY nice deal!

I like the old Imperials and have probably 75+ of them in all different types & styles, not counting the Imperial Frontiers.
Imperial was very innovative back in the 1930s. People didn't have a lot of money and their shell-handled knives were a great invention to keep the price down. The fact that there so many left 70+ years later attests to their quality.

Do you have an Imperial like this ? I wouldn't think this pattern would be too common, and in mint condition as well.

Hey Fran, good looking knife there . I have one just like it (well, it's been used) that belonged to my Grandmother. I think of her everytime I see it . Thanks for putting it on here.

I think I will someday get over that darn Scotish cheapness and just buy the darn things when I find them if they catch my eye. It saves me a second trip after I eventually talk myself into it. Fortunatly this time it was a company car, shhh don't tell the boss!
These old Imperials came in such a wide variety, and some cool ones can be had cheap, much like when they were originaly sold.

Well now thats hard for me to tell if she is or not.

That black spot on the blade is only in the photo and not on the blade.

Is that what made you think she is an Italian girl ???

Don't know if this qualifies as a two-tone knife but........

IKCO brand with a jigged bone scale on one side and a black composition scale on the other.Doesn't look to have been replaced and it's too inexpensive a knife to fake.Sorry for the poor pics;the lighting was bad.

Hello knife7knut; That is a KOOL looking error. I have seen some others with mixed handles come out of factory boxes. I would call the knive made on friday afternoon after the boss left...

Perhaps the worker was also the oldes kid in his class by about 2 years...
