I found out today that the publisher of my book(s), Collecting Case Knives - Identification ans Price Guide - filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
I found this out by opening a piece of mail that I thought would be my spring royalty check, to find a bankruptcy notification instead.
Amazon still may have some copies (for now) if anyone wants one, now is the time to act.

Well that's not good. Do you have any plans to write more books in the future?

That's a shame Steve. Can you get the publishing rights and find another publisher?

Sorry to hear that news, Steve.
I hope another venue comes your way so you can share your knowledge of knives and be profitable as well.

Sorry to hear. Hope all works out for you and you can find another publisher.
I have your 2nd edition. A fantastic addition to any knife collector's library.

What a shame. Steve I hope you can find another publisher, or someone buys Krause out of the bankruptcy and keeps it going. They published many other knife related books also.
For those interested, here’s a link to some info about the situation

So sorry to hear that bud.....sucks actually.
Have you considered self/on-demand publishing? Like with Kindle? Or searching out other options. I have a friend who
is now an author....Has written 2 books and earns money when they sell.

My son has written two books. He said they are self published or as needed and not expensive. Like small lots not huge minimums. I can ask for details. available from him or Amazon. But they may not print pictures? Bob

I emailed Knife Magazine and asked about ordering one of Steve's books from them. This is their response and also may explain a bit of the trouble Krause experienced?
Too late — we discontinued it about a month ago. After years of putting up with their policies, I finally decided to go ahead and drop all of the books published by Krause (or Gun Digest, or whoever owns those books now.) You can buy one copy from them at nearly our cost when we buy 50 at a time, that’s just one of my grievances.

Sorry to hear this Steve. Just an FYI for anyone looking, I bought a copy of the second edition (to supplement my first edition) at a local Books-A-Million bookstore back in January, some of their stores may still have a copy or two on the shelf. OH

That is the down side of the information super highway. So much information on line book company’s can’t compete. You cannot even find a map book anymore.
I’m sorry to hear how it is effecting you directly. Hope you find another publisher.
